For several years I worked with Easylearn publishers, developing resources for children struggling with English and Maths. I am one of the creators of the Froggy Match-it phonics app, which helps beginner readers to learn to read and spell effectively.

The 52 pages cover the skills pupils need in order to use reference materials efficiently. Look it up is suitable for Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils, including those needing additional, personalised interventions. Tasks involve using dictionaries, encyclopaedias, thesauruses, reference books and the Internet. The three Puzzle it Out books offer a variety of motivating word puzzles and games. Book 2 has 70 pages and covers long vowel phonemes including alternative spellings and split digraphs. The Puzzle it Out books appeal to a wide age range, from the very young to older pupils who are still having problems with phonics. They can be used alongside any phonic programme. This book is full of tasks pupils enjoy: finding mistakes, marking and correcting texts, etc. Full stops, capital letters, apostrophes, speech marks and some uses of the comma are covered.
